ASIPMA

Alliance for Infertility Support through Medically Assisted Procreation

.

1- INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

Infertility has become a major public health challenge in Cameroon, affecting approximately one in every four couples.
Its causes are numerous — pelvic infections, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), tubal obstruction, fibroids, and more — while local medical options remain limited, expensive, or unavailable.

Women and couples facing infertility often endure a double burden:
profound physical and emotional pain, combined with social stigma and isolation.

In response to this urgent reality, ASIPMA was founded as a pioneering initiative to break the silence surrounding infertility, provide psychological and medical support, and facilitate access to Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) such as IVF — both locally and abroad.

Beyond infertility, ASIPMA extends its support to individuals living with chronic or serious illnesses (including cancer, hepatitis, and HIV), as well as those seeking aesthetic, reconstructive, or specialized surgeries overseas.
This broader focus reflects ASIPMA’s vision of holistic health — ensuring that every person, regardless of financial status, has access to care, dignity, and hope.
